Current trials involving peginterferon alfa for people with moderate or severe chronic CHC are reported in Appendix 11 of the Assessment Report. These consist of 1 trial of a triple therapy, 5 trials of combination therapy, 2 of monotherapy, 5 of co-infected populations, and 1 to assess the long-term SVR in children. Trials for people with mild chronic CHC are also near completion. In addition, a randomised controlled trial of combination therapy involving pegylated interferon alfa-2a versus alfa-2b is being planned.
